Dear Families,
My name is Naomi Arzate and I am the School Counsellor at Fort Saskatchewan Christian School. I am excited to be part of the FSCS family; it is already apparent how supportive and caring the FSCS community is and I am very grateful to be part of it!
I received my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at the University of Lethbridge and I am currently working on my Master of Educational Studies through the University of Alberta. I have been teaching in a variety of capacities since 2003. What I love most about working with children is their genuine curiosity in their learning and the world around them. The counseling role provides a unique opportunity to work closely with students, facilitating early interventions and supports that can have a positive impact for a lifetime.
As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of all students. I work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, caregivers and students to support learning by providing solution-based, short-term problem solving. I also support caregivers and families by providing resources and referrals to community supports and agencies as needed.
